A thought

A thought for the day – not mine, but one I heard on (of all places) an Olympics broadcast. It made me smile, and nod in agreement:

Good judgment comes from experience and experience comes from bad judgment

Hello Sarah, I found this blog after seeing the Dollars trilogy you performed on Youtube. It is incredible. I am an American teacher who was stuck in Manila eight months after Covid struck and then I came to Shanghai last October (Manila-Istanbul-Minsk-Helsinki-Nanjing just to get to the Chinese mainland). It is two summers now I haven’t been home because of Covid (Detroit), and along with being isolated for a long time, I am definitely thankful to have come across this mental health blog. Your honesty, creativity, frankness, and brilliance are just what I needed. Plus, your story of being a child prodigy musician to a conductor is so inspiring. It’s a wonderful testament to finding a new path when needed. I listen to music/videos between every class during school and both your videos and bio will be shared with my many aspiring Chinese high school students in the future. It’s an amazing story students should hear. “Good judgment comes from experience and experience comes from bad judgment.” Boy is this quote true in my life. Thank you so much. I really hope to see you perform live one day. Maybe you can come to China : )

Thank you so much for this, and I always feel honored to be able to touch others through my stories and words. I hope you’re hanging in there, and that you get to come home soon!
